The Hi-Lo strategy

Many years ago whilst studying O level Maths I learnt about the Sine curve, at the time I did not fully understand the concept but now a quarter of a century later I have experienced the practical realities of this curve with its steep peaks and deep troughs.

The form of the Pakistani cricket team follows such cyclical highs and lows. When they play good they are simply awesome and for the loyal and passionate fan like myself the ecstatic feeling which shoots through the body can only be matched by a 45 second freefall from 13,000 ft. Accelerating from 0-120mph in 10 secs, that’s one big adrenalin rush ! ….which is easily substituted by witnessing the electrifying pace and hostility of Shoaib Akhtar, the destructive batting of Afridi, the accuracy and movement of Asif, or the superb timing of Mohammed Yousaf. When the team performs to their natural abilities, the cricket is beautiful to watch, a wonderful masterpiece and exhibition of the highest quality - pure geniuses at work

And then there are days like today, when the South Africans completely hammered us. It was embarrassing to watch, the game being so one sided it was like watching grown men play with school kids. The players lacked application, grit, and the will to compete in the game…it was so depressing to watch.

Hand me the prozac…………

It is sad to witness such performances by our beloved team.

Our mother land taught us more than this. Our mother land was obtained by sacrifice and fight. Our beloved team should show the same qualities but it is very sad to see these qualities are lacking.

I truly hope that we do not have to witness such performances again

Come on it's only a game ....you wins some & you lose some. No need to start getting so nationalistic and counting the sacrifices of your forefathers.....it's only a sport.

Cricket may be the only link that you have to your forefathers nation, but when you visit the country on holidays you're always counting the days until you're back in the UK. So don't give me any of the patriotic stuff and don't get so paranoid about the performance of the Pakistani cricket team. They are a bunch of drug taking, ball scratching over rated group of individuals.

My dear,

If you are generalising that they are a bunch of drug taking, ball scratching group of individuals then you are also a suicide bomber.

listen mate, get your facts right:

1996 - In a series between England and Pakistan, cricket authorities said tampering took place by Pakistan but no action was taken

2000 - In a one-day international, Pakistan bowler Waqar Younis was fined for match-fixing and suspended for ball tampering.

2002 - Shoiab Akhtar of Pakistan was reprimanded for ball tampering in a Test match versus Zimbabwe.

2002 - The Pakistan Cricket Board fined six players for ball tampering in the domestic Ramadan Cup.

2003 - Shoaib Akhtar was banned from two one-day internationals and fined for ball tampering in a one-day match against New Zealand

and let’s not even go near the forfeited test match at the Oval.

Oh and regarding drug taking, if Shoiab isn’t taking recreational drugs he is using illegal performance-enhancing supplements. Traces of nandrolone were found in samples provided by Mohammed Asif and Shoaib Akhtar.

Ignorance is no defence and I rest my case. Just look at the bigger picture, all the above points are facts….cricket is only a game, so play it in the right manner…..and don’t bring historical conflicts into this.

You are on the wrong path. So much anger? Calm down then we may talk.

Please inform me when your thermal heat of vaporisation has decreased.

I will present many facts for you to consider.
